For a good strong cup of coffee, use one scoop for every 8 ounces of water.

If you’re using a carafe to measure water, remember that a “cup” on the carafe is only 5 ounces, not 8 ounces. Here’s how to measure coffee when brewing coffee in your drip coffee maker:
For 2 cups: 10 ounces of water and 1 heaping scoop of coffee
For 3 cups: 15 ounces of water and 2 scoops
For 4 cups: 20 ounces of water and 2.5 scoops
For 5 cups: 25 ounces of water and 3 scoops
For 6 cups: 30 ounces of water and 3 3/4 scoops
For 8 cups: 40 ounces of water and 5 scoops
For 10 cups: 50 ounces of water and 6 1/4 scoops
For 12 cups: 60 ounces of water and 7.5 scoops
